Coaches,
With the unofficial first week of the Competition Season upon us, there's a lot going on in the world of all star cheer.  Below are a few noteworthy updates....

Scoring FAQ's - To view some of the highlights from the Facebook Scoring Q&A that took place a few weeks ago, CLICK HERE.  This document is also being shared with our judges as an additional training tool.  Remember, there is no 'secret scoring guide' or 'underground rubric.'  In the spirit of transparency, Varsity All Star judges and coaches are given the same information.

Running Tumbling Update - In addition to the minor tweaks made to the Scoring Rubric earlier this month (which can be found by CLICKING HERE), we've decided to relax our Running Tumbling requirement.  Coaches and Athletes alike should celebrate to know that individual level appropriate skills within the tumbling pass will count - instead of defining the entire pass as just one skill - when determining your Running Tumbling subrange in L1-L4 (i.e. a whip through to layout pass and a punch front step out through to layout pass now both count as two skills instead of one).

Varsity All Star Announcement - John Newby sent out an exciting email earlier this week regarding the USASF Board, to read his letter, CLICK HERE.  There have been several moments in the short history of the USASF that have made me proud to be a part of the organization and a part of Varsity, and this is one of them!

That's all for today (probably).  Have a great week.  And for those of you competing with WSF, American Cheer Power, or CHEERSPORT this weekend, GOOD LUCK.  The competition season has arrived!

Thanks,

Justin Carrier
